Anupama 28th September 2024 Episode Update
The episode kicks off with Anupama reflecting on her relationship with Anuj, sharing with her family how strong their love was and the obstacles they had to overcome. She recalls how their journey was far from easy. In a flashback, we see Baa making hurtful comments, telling Anupama that while a young woman can remarry, it’s improper for a grandmother.
Baa had even urged Anupama to reject Anuj’s love. Back in the present, Anupama shares how, despite being a divorced mother of three and a grandmother, she stood firm against society’s judgment. She and Anuj fought to gain the respect of their families and succeeded. With that, Anupama turns her attention to Meenu, criticizing her for causing pain to her mother.
Anupama sternly addresses Meenu, reminding her of the hurt she caused Dolly, the woman who gave her life and raised her. She stresses that hurting one’s mother is a serious wrongdoing, and while she supports love, she cannot excuse poor decisions made in its name.
Anupama declares that it will be up to Dolly to decide what happens next. Overcome with guilt, Sagar and Meenu apologize for their actions, admitting they acted without thinking. Sagar, full of remorse, acknowledges the pain they’ve caused, and Meenu tearfully seeks forgiveness from her mother.
Dolly, however, is devastated. She expresses her disappointment, telling Meenu that her impulsive decision to marry has shattered all the dreams she had for her daughter. Refusing to accept Sagar as her son-in-law, Dolly warns that no one can be happy while making a mother cry. She then lashes out at Anupama, accusing her of supporting the couple and cursing her, saying that Anupama will never find happiness with her own daughter.
Sagar, upset by Dolly’s harsh words, pleads with her to direct her anger at him and not Anupama. He apologizes to Anupama, acknowledging that they don’t deserve forgiveness and that they’ll leave. Pakhi and Baa encourage them to go, and Toshu coldly remarks that they’ll regret their decisions when they have no home. Even Dimpy chimes in, sarcastically stating that she packed their bags for nothing.
As Sagar and Meenu prepare to leave, Anupama stops them. She shocks everyone by announcing that she will perform their homecoming ceremony with an aarti. Sagar and Meenu are overjoyed, but Dolly is furious. She confronts Anupama, accusing her of always trying to be the hero while making Dolly look like the villain. Toshu adds his sarcastic remarks, saying Anupama always plays the role of the “great one.”
Anupama, staying calm, explains that while she acknowledges their mistake, she believes Sagar is a good person. She’s not excusing their actions but stopping them from becoming homeless. She adds that while forgiveness lies in Dolly’s hands, her priority is welcoming them into the home. She invites Dolly to join her in welcoming her daughter and son-in-law, but Dolly refuses to give them her blessing.
Despite Dolly’s refusal, Anupama carries out the aarti and tilak ceremony for Sagar and Meenu as they step into the house. Meenu thanks Anupama, but Anupama uses the moment to share some advice with the newlyweds. She reminds them that marriage comes with responsibilities, and from now on, they must support one another. She advises them to focus on completing their education and becoming self-reliant before expecting to manage their married life and win the family’s acceptance. With heartfelt sincerity, Anupama wishes them well.
Later, Anupama breaks down in front of Anuj, feeling emotionally overwhelmed by the events of the day. She admits that she’s struggling with feelings of anger and confusion. Anuj, attempting to lighten the mood, playfully suggests that they run away from all the family drama and start a new life. They joke about escaping to the jungle, free from the chaos. Their moment, however, is interrupted when Aadhya calls for Anupama.
Meanwhile, Aadhya is frustrated after a day filled with drama and finds it hard to focus on her studies. She notices that Ansh is feeling down and learns that he misses his Dadu, who used to play with him. Trying to cheer him up, Aadhya offers to play a boys’ game with him, but the game takes an unfortunate turn when the ball accidentally hits Ansh in the face. Aadhya immediately apologizes, but Dimpy arrives and harshly scolds her, accusing Aadhya of acting entitled like her parents.
Ansh quickly steps in to defend Aadhya, explaining that it was just an accident. However, Dimpy continues her tirade, even going so far as to call Aadhya’s family beggars. Hurt and angry, Aadhya stands her ground, calling Dimpy out for her rude behavior and pointing out that even Dimpy’s own son is unhappy with her. Anupama steps in, asking both Aadhya and Dimpy to apologize to each other, but Aadhya refuses and storms off, leaving Dimpy fuming and Anupama frustrated.
Later, Anupama and Anuj discuss how to lift the heavy atmosphere in the house. Babu ji suggests doing something to lighten everyone’s spirits. Together, they come up with a plan and gather the family. Despite the tension and mistakes that have occurred, they decide to carry out traditional post-wedding rituals for Sagar and Meenu. The couple participates in the ring-finding game, where Sagar wins. Nandita jokingly comments that this means Sagar will dominate the marriage. The family then asks Anupama and Anuj to join the fun, but Anuj playfully declines, saying they’ll save that for after their own wedding.
Precap: Dolly and Anuj are seen leaving the house, and in her frustration, Dolly drops a bowl of sugar and curd, calling it a bad omen. Meenu is visibly upset and calls out for her mother. Later, Anupama and Anuj are approached by a man who questions her about her idea for “Anu ki Rasoi.” Anupama proudly credits Anuj for its success, but the man rudely dismisses Anuj as nothing more than a fraud and a bankrupt businessman.
