Anupama Episode Recap – September 15, 2024: Anupama and Anuj Embrace Mahi at Asha Bhavan

The episode begins with Pari letting Anupama know that the Visarjan (idol immersion) is complete and, as a result, their father has decided that they are no longer welcome to visit. Mahi, feeling deeply saddened, shares her worries with Anupama. Although Bappa (Lord Ganesha) has returned to his celestial realm, Mahi feels abandoned and helpless.

She confides that her parents have left her, and now Toshu wants to send her away. Terrified of being exploited, Mahi seeks comfort from Anupama. Kinjal reassures her that Toshu’s anger will pass and that Asha Bhavan is also her home. Despite this, Toshu remains adamant about sending Mahi to an orphanage.

Anupama is taken aback by Toshu’s cold demeanor. Babuji reminds Toshu that Mahi is still his sister, but Toshu dismisses this, arguing that Mahi is simply Kavya’s daughter and a burden to him. Outraged, Anupama confronts Toshu, but he retorts that she has no right to criticize him since he has severed ties with her.

Determined to safeguard Mahi, Anupama takes a stand. She asserts that if Toshu views Mahi as a burden, she will take on the responsibility of raising her as her own child. She offers Mahi the option to stay with her, affectionately referred to as Badi Mummy, and her sister Aadhya. Anupama promises Mahi that she is not alone and that they are now her family.

Toshu mocks Anupama’s decision, pointing out that Asha Bhavan is struggling with tax issues and questioning her choice to take on Kavya’s daughter. He leaves, clearly stating he doesn’t want Mahi back.

Baa expresses concern about how Anupama will manage, but Anupama responds confidently. She reminds everyone that Asha Behen created Asha Bhavan with the intent of providing a sanctuary where no one would ever feel abandoned. Dimpy voices her worry about potential criticism, but the residents of Asha Bhavan come together in support. They share their own experiences of hardship and affirm that Mahi belongs with them.

Pari asks if she will still be able to visit Mahi, and Anupama reassures her that she can. Mahi is overjoyed to be staying with them, and Aadhya is excited to have a new younger sister. Anuj promises to treat Mahi as his own child. Kinjal observes that while blood relatives may be at odds, the people of Asha Bhavan exhibit genuine love and solidarity.

A welcome party is held in honor of Mahi. Mahi, puzzled by the celebration, asks why it’s happening. Anupama explains that she is the special guest of the day. Bala adds that they typically hold a welcome party for new members, though they could not do so for Anuj or Aadhya due to health issues. Now, they are ready to celebrate. Aadhya presents Mahi with a magic wand, allowing her to decide the party’s activities. Mahi, thrilled to be the guest of honor, eagerly tells Anuj to start dancing.

Outside, Ansh, Pari, and Ishu observe the festivities from a distance. Inside, Anuj dances with enthusiasm to the song “Aankhiyon Se Goli Maare.” The children eventually join in the fun. Kinjal tells Baa that while Asha Bhavan might not be rich in material wealth, its inhabitants are truly happy, in stark contrast to their own home, which, despite its affluence, feels devoid of joy. She reveals her desire to leave Toshu due to his deplorable behavior. Titu agrees, expressing his wish to separate from Dimpy. Baa becomes worried about the family’s future.

Later, Dimpy discovers Titu packing his bags. He reveals his plan to go to his mother’s place but is uncertain about his return. Dimpy insists on holding him back until she receives her share of the property and unpacks his bags, determined to prevent his departure.

Meanwhile, Anuj is enraged after reading a newspaper article falsely accusing him of fraud. He angrily throws the paper. Anupama tries to calm him, encouraging him to trust in himself and assuring him that things will improve. She reflects on her own past struggles and how the truth eventually came to light. She advises Anuj to remain patient and confident, reminding him of the phrase, “I can and I will,” which he repeats with renewed resolve.

Ansh requests pizza from Kinjal, but Toshu harshly tells him to eat what’s already served. Dimpy reprimands Toshu, leading to a heated argument where they start breaking dishes in their frustration.

Baa pleads for them to stop, but Dimpy insists on her claim to the house, while Toshu demands that she contribute to the household expenses. Meenu quietly cleans up the broken dishes, and Dolly gently inquires why.

Later, Anupama lovingly serves breakfast to Anuj, who begins hiccuping. She smiles and tells him he’s very handsome. When Anuj asks who she’s referring to, she playfully gestures towards the coffee. Anuj’s hiccups stop, and he enjoys his meal with a smile. They share a tender moment, reminiscing about Anuj’s earlier proposal.
