Bhagya Lakshmi Written Updated – 9th September 2024: Balwinder’s Secret Comes to Light
The episode kicks off with Balwinder, filled with fury and a thirst for revenge, reflecting on his past misdeeds. He admits to causing harm to many women but holds Lakshmi responsible for his downfall, which led to his imprisonment in a mental asylum. Seething with anger, Balwinder swears to take down both Lakshmi and Rishi. Although he lost track of his revenge for seven years, his determination has reignited. In a fit of rage, he bangs his head against the wall until a guard intervenes.
Elsewhere, Ayush notices a group of kids gathered nearby and curiously asks what they’re up to. Rishi joins in, explaining that the kids are admiring Ganapati Bappa. One of the children, Paro, innocently wonders why they don’t have a large Ganapati idol at home. Rishi explains that big idols are traditionally brought during Ganesh Chaturthi.
Ayush adds that they always welcome Ganapati Bappa into their home for the festival. Eager to be part of the preparations, the kids offer their help, and Rishi agrees to bring the idol home this year. When Lakshmi arrives, Rishi tells her about the kids’ wish to bring Bappa into their home, making her smile.
At the hospital, a doctor scolds the guards for keeping Balwinder locked in a dark, isolated room and instructs them to move him somewhere more suitable. Balwinder pretends to show remorse and promises to behave.
Meanwhile, at the house, Aanchal excitedly announces that Neelam wants to bring Bappa home in a grand fashion, lifting everyone’s spirits. Lakshmi watches Paro interact with the family and reflects on her own desire for a loving family.
Balwinder, however, has no intention of staying put. He secretly plans his escape, intending to cut through the window bars and make a run for it during the Ganapati procession, believing that the police will not be able to catch him in the chaos.
The kids are excited to bring Ganapati Bappa home, but Anushka mentions that traditionally, girls don’t fetch the idol. Dadi quickly corrects her, saying that girls can participate too, and advises Paro to be cautious. Lakshmi suggests getting the idol from their usual artisan, and everyone agrees.
Despite the distance, Paro insists on coming along. After the meal, Rishi prepares to leave with the kids, and Lakshmi sees them off. Ayush decides to tag along, hinting at a surprise he has in store. Dadi compliments Lakshmi for restoring Ayush’s joyful spirit.
Meanwhile, the guards check Balwinder’s room. He hides from view, and as soon as they leave, he resumes his escape attempt, working on breaking the iron bars.
Rishi, Paro, and Rohan step outside, and Rishi tells them to wait while he fetches the tempo. Lakshmi comes out, and Paro playfully teases that she must be there to remind them to behave and take care. Lakshmi smiles and advises them to be careful and not give Rishi a hard time.
Ayush arrives with the truck, and the excitement grows. Rishi asks Lakshmi to let the family know that Bappa will arrive the next day. He tells Lakshmi that seeing her with the kids makes him feel their family is complete. Lakshmi agrees and reminds Rishi to look after himself and Paro, who isn’t feeling well. Rishi assures her that he will take good care of “their children.”
Back at the asylum, Balwinder’s escape is thwarted when the guards catch him and lock him back in his dark cell. Enraged, Balwinder vows that no one knows his true capabilities and that he won’t stop until he gets his revenge on Lakshmi and Rishi.
Later, Lakshmi enters Neelam’s room and accidentally knocks over a picture frame of Virender, Neelam, and Rishi. The sight of the photo stirs her emotions. She quietly places it back just as Neelam steps out of the bathroom, and Lakshmi leaves the room without saying a word.
Lakshmi ponders over why she hesitated to talk to Neelam about Bau Ji. Just then, Rishi calls, and Lakshmi playfully asks if he misses her. Rishi jokingly says yes and hands the phone to Paro and Rohan, who promise to show Lakshmi Bappa through a video call. Rohan unveils the idol, noting that the face is covered but still beautiful. Lakshmi asks if they’ve prayed on her behalf, and Paro assures her they have. Lakshmi asks when they’ll be home, and they confirm they’ll return the next day.
Later, Dadi searches for a book and asks Lakshmi to help her find it. Lakshmi finds a book titled “First Love.” Dadi playfully remarks that Lakshmi might be surprised she reads love stories at her age. She explains that love brings joy and makes even the biggest challenges seem small. Dadi encourages Lakshmi to embrace love and happiness in her life.
She hints that while the love for children like Rohan and Paro is special, there’s another kind of love filled with dreams and hope. Dadi subtly suggests that Rishi would make a wonderful life partner and prays that Lakshmi will start a new chapter with Bappa’s blessings.
Back at the asylum, the doctor criticizes the guards for confining Balwinder in a dark room, arguing that he isn’t a criminal. The guards insist that Balwinder is faking his illness to escape punishment. When the doctor orders them to open the door, they discover that Balwinder has escaped, leaving a damaged wall in his wake. The doctor is shocked to realize he’s gone.
At the house, Aanchal is busy with Ganesh Chaturthi preparations, and the pandit arrives to oversee the arrangements. Dadi inquires about Rishi, and Karishma informs her that he’s on his way. Suddenly, Dadi slips on a misplaced carpet, but Lakshmi catches her just in time.
Karishma scolds the servant for the mishap, but Lakshmi intervenes, saying it’s a festive day and everyone should be in good spirits. Dadi agrees, praising Lakshmi’s kindness, though Karishma seems visibly annoyed.
Meanwhile, the asylum doctor calls Malishka’s phone, but Karishma answers, pretending to be Malishka. She tricks the doctor into revealing that Balwinder has escaped. Karishma, pleased with the news, assumes Balwinder is targeting Lakshmi and not Malishka, setting the stage for more drama to unfold.
