Rupali Ganguly’s Amazing Transformation: From Sanjivani’s Villain to Anupamaa’s Loving Mother

Rupali Ganguly has won hearts as Anupamaa, the caring and strong-willed mother in the hit TV show Anupamaa. But before she became a household name with this role, Rupali played one of Indian television’s most unforgettable villains in the medical drama Sanjivani. Her character, Dr. Simran, was known for her fierce and vengeful personality, setting her apart as a standout antagonist in the series.

A recently resurfaced clip from Sanjivani shows Rupali in her intense role as Dr. Simran. In the show, Simran’s main objective was to make life difficult for her husband’s ex-girlfriend, Dr. Juhi, played by Gurdeep Kohli. The rivalry between the two characters brought a lot of drama and excitement to the series.

In the clip, Simran confronts Juhi and says bitterly, “You envy me, don’t you? You know you can never take my place, Juhi. Never.” Juhi, calm and composed, responds, “Listen, I don’t want to take your place. I already have something no one can take—Rahul’s love.”

Wearing a striking green saree, Simran’s anger flares as she yells, “Why are you doing all this?” Juhi softly replies, “I don’t want anything, Simran. The love I have has filled the emptiness in my life. I have no more desires.”

Rupali’s portrayal of Dr. Simran is worlds apart from her current role as the warm and kind Anupamaa, showcasing her incredible range as an actress. Her journey from playing a scheming villain in Sanjivani to becoming the beloved and strong Anupamaa reflects her talent and versatility, making her a standout performer in the world of television.
